As soon as a child has been identified
with a hearing loss and has been properly amplified
with hearing aids or a cochlear implant, they should
begin Auditory-Verbal therapy. The child’s
greatest time to learn language occurs during the
first two to three years of life when neurological
pathways are stimulated and the auditory centers
of the brain are being developed. However some children
are not identified this early or may have progressive
hearing losses, Auditory-Verbal therapy will still
be effective for them.
